Ruth I. Sleppy

Ruth I. Sleppy, 87, of Keystone, IN, and having family in Warren, IN, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, at 10:15 p.m. at her residence.

Mrs. Sleppy was a 1948 graduate of Hartford Center High School in Linn Grove. She was a member of the Keystone United Methodist Church. She had worked for the Wells County Credit Bureau, and later retired after 17 years from the Wells Community Hospital. She was a member of the Busy Bees. She had also helped her husband in the fields and with livestock.

She was born Sept. 16, 1931, in Adams County to Theodore and Mary Taylor Graham, IN. She married Melvin "Leon" Sleppy on Dec. 18, 1948, in Kokomo, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy Ilene Raab, of Warren; a son, Jerry Lee (Joyce) Sleppy, of Keystone; nine grandchildren, Kevin Couch and Caleb Sleppy, both of Warren; Kyle Couch, of Keystone; Angie Duncan and Holly Anderson, both of Bluffton; Amanda Clark, of Liberty Center; Brittani Langhammer, of Moorseville; Melissa Atchley, of Muncie; and Joshua Sleppy, of Hubert, NC; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Leon Sleppy; a son-in-law, David B. Raab; and  a grandson, Ben Sleppy.
 
Calling is Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier. A service of celebration will be at the funeral home on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Marlene Ellis officiating. There will be one hour of calling prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Mossburg Cemetery in Liberty Center.
