Eileen J. Abbott

Eileen J. Abbott, 91, of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at 3:25 p.m. at Heritage Pointe of Huntington.

Mrs. Abbott was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of the Jaycee Wives, Modern Mother’s Home Economics Club and Forever Friends. She worked with her husband for Bankers Advertising for several years, volunteered at Parkview Huntington Hospital and at one time was a Girl Scout leader.

She was born Oct. 21, 1927, in Jonesboro to Ned and A. Lavon Hughes Miller. She married William Abbott on June 1, 1947, in Markle, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 2010.

Survivors include three daughters, Beverly (Don) DeWald, of Macy; and Colleen (Alan) Pflieger and Dawn (Richard) Miller, both of Huntington; a sister, Mary Jane Manuwal, of Plymouth; seven grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Douglas Alan Pflieger.

Calling is Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Heritage of Huntington, 1180 W-500N, Huntington. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington. There will be one hour of calling preceding the service. Interment will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery.
