Monty L. Quick

Monty L. Quick, 76, of Van Buren, IN, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at 4:30 a.m. at St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana in Indianapolis, IN.

Mr. Quick attended Oak Hill High School and attended Ivy Tech Community College and Ohio State University. He served in the United States Army as a combat engineer. He was a supervisor at Fisher Body in Marion, was in the swimming pool business and was a well digger. He volunteered at St. Martin’s in Marion and provided food to the needy and to friends in the community.

He was born Oct. 25, 1942, in Blackfork, OH to Clyde Calvin and Mary Brewer Quick.  He married Judy Bergman on March 29, 1986, in Panama, OK, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Robert (Barbara) Quick, of Marion; two daughters, Monica (Bobby Stevens) Quick, of Van Buren, and Diane (Karl) Trottnow, of North Ridgeville, OH; five sisters, Juanita Garrett, of Lakeland, FL; Sharon Jacobs, of Cocoa, FL; Shirley Davis and Naomi Marshall, both of Rockledge, FL; and Erma Quick, of St. Cloud, FL; three brothers, John Quick, of Conneautville, PA; Clyde Quick, of Tennessee; and Russell Quick, of Briston, TN; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Calling is Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home 201 N. Main St., Van Buren. A service of celebration will immediately follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Jeremy Cowin officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Army.
