Christine N. 'Chris' Clevenger

Christine N.  “Chris” Clevenger, 78, of Marion, and with ties to Van Buren, IN, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, at 2:45 a.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor in Marion.

Mrs. Clevenger was a graduate of Van Buren High School and a member of Liberty Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for several years and was actively involved in the women’s Bible study group. She was a hairdresser/stylist throughout her career.  

She was born Jan. 8, 1940, in Grant County to William and Juanita Nelson Harmon.  She married William L. “Bill” Clevenger on June 22, 1958, and he survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Katrina (Mark) Vermilion, of Nicholasville, KY; a son, Aaron (Donna) Clevenger, of Marion; a sister, Loxi (Ned) Diskey, of Fairmount; a brother-in-law, David Clevenger, of Knoxville, TN; and seven grandchildren, Lauren Vermilion, Brandon Vermilion, Madeline (Jake) Halm, Nathan Vermilion, Kaylen Vermilion, Lukas Clevenger and Emma Clevenger.

A funeral service was held Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at Liberty Baptist Church, Sweetser, with Rev. Terry Bishir officiating. Burial was in Gardens of Memory.
