Rev. Richard 'Dick' Bunnell

Rev. Richard “Dick” Bunnell, 82, of Roanoke, IN, died Nov. 16, 2018.

Mr. Bunnell graduated from Elmhurst High School in Fort Wayne, earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana Central University and a Master of Divinity from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH.  He served for more than years as a pastor in numerous United Methodist Churches in the northern part of Indiana Area Conference, retiring in 2018 from Bethel UMC in Huntington.  
 
He was born Aug. 13, 1936, in Fort Wayne to Roy and Helen Bunnell.  He married Heather Olson on April 9, 1994, in Roanoke, and she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Karen (Joe Watkins) Holliness, of Fort Wayne, and Kirstin (Eric) Bullington, of Columbia, SC; a son, Erik Olson, of Honolulu, HI; a daughter-in-law, Sue Bunnell, of New Haven; a sister-in-law, Lynda Vanderaa, of London, Ontario, Canada; six grandchildren, Joel (Brittany) Bunnell, of New Haven; Leesa Bunnell, Nicole Holliness and Joe Watkins Holliness, all of Fort Wayne; and Rowan Bullington and Darwin Bullington, both of Columbia, SC; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by a son John Bunnell, and a granddaughter, Lindsey Bunnell.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Bethel UMC, 629 Riverside Drive, Huntington. Family will greet guests in the fellowship hall following the service.  The burial will be private.
