Charles W. 'Charlie' Spicer

Charles W. “Charlie” Spicer, 78, of Sweetser, IN, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, at 6:50 a.m. at Rolling Meadows Health Care Center in LaFontaine, IN.

Mr. Spicer was a veteran of the United States Navy and received his high school diploma while serving in the military. He was an electrician with GM Fisher Body until his retirement in 2008.  

He was born Sept. 3, 1940, in Marion Raymond and Christine Stidd Spicer.  He married Cheryl Ellis on April 11, 1966, and she preceded him in death in 2000.

He is survived by two daughters, Anna (Tony) Clark, of Indianapolis, and Brenda White, of Sweetser; a son, Brent Spicer, of Kokomo; two sisters, Donna Coons and Pam (Dennis) Caudell; a sister-in-law, Teresa (Denny) Blevins; eight grandchildren, Kimberly (Patrick) Byerly, of Greenfield; Amanda Caldwell and Joshua Alkire, both of Indianapolis; Jessica Miles, of Noblesville; Nolan White, of Sweetser; Olivia (Garrett) Maxey, of Fort Branch; Benjamin White, of Marion; and Zachary Spicer, of Texas; and two great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion. A service will be held Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from noon to 1 p.m..
