Albert Lesley

Albert Lesley, 67, of rural Columbia City, IN, and having family in Huntington, IN, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at 1:08 p.m. at his home.

Mr. Lesley’s formative years were spent in Lakeport,  where he attended Clearlake High School. He lived in Lakeport until 1972 when he moved to Columbia City.

For 20 years, he was employed by the Whitley County Highway Dept. as a driver. He then worked as a groundskeeper at Eagle Glen Golf Course for five years. Most recently, he maintained the sewage treatment facility at Miami Village Mobile Home Park.

He was born Dec. 16, 1950, in Lakeport, CA, to Kenneth Eugene and Jeanette Marcella Beachler Lesley. He married Mary J. Zent on Dec, 16, 2001, and she survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Debra J. Lesley, of Huntington, and Halona Luna, of Fort Wayne; a stepson, Timothy L. (Amy) Pratt, of Columbia City; a stepdaughter, Crystal L. (Brian) Kennedy, of South Bend; a sister, Gerry (Buck) Engle, of Lakeport, CA; and a brother, Ronald Lesley, pf Veneta, OR.

Calling is Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with the funeral following immediately after, at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial will take place at a later date at the South Whitley Cemetery.
