Jackie L. Britten

Jackie Lee Britten, 82, 
formerly, of Huntington County, IN, died Saturday, Sept.1, 2018, at the Heartland of Zephyrhills nursing home in Pasco County, Florida, after a long illness.

Mr. Britten was raised in Celina, OH. He and his wife moved from Huntington County to Dade City, FL, in 1995 after retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, who served on the USS C. K. Bronson from 1954 to 1957. Later in life his occupation of choice was truck driving, which he did for more than 20 years. He was also a member of the Central States Teamsters Union. He and his family participated in the Pioneer Village at the Forks of the Wabash Festival every September in Huntington, Indiana for many years.

He was born on Aug. 10, 1936, in Rossburg, OH, to Edward Vernon and Carrie Donovan Britten. He married Virginia Brush, and she survives after 61 years of marriage.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Brenda Dunnuck, Penny (Rich)
 Shenefield and Kimberly (Jim) Hethcote, all of Huntington County; three sons, James (Cheri) Britten and Christopher (Roxanne) Britten, both of 
Huntington County; and Charles (Carol) Britten, of Cleburn, TX; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.



Interment will be at Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, at a later date next spring.
