Lois M. Walter

Lois Maxine Walter, 88, of Warren, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne following a battle with cancer.
 
A lifelong resident of Jefferson Township, Mrs. Walter graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1948. She was an active partner with with her husband on their livestock and grain farm. She was a lifelong member of Jefferson Center United Methodist Church and Solid Rock United Methodist Church. She served as church pianist and organist for more than 60 years.

She was born on Aug. 2, 1930, in Huntington County to Charles and Ina Pinkerton Love. She married Jerry Walter on Jan. 6, 1951, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Gary (Rosalie) Walter and David (Lynette) Walter, both of Warren; a daughter, Susan (Merlyn) Lucas, of Knox; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Lianna) Walter, Michelle (Andy) Rans, Jeff (Sydney) Walter, Braden (Liza) Walter, Brandt Walter, Crystal (Sang Mark) Chung and Jeremy (Claudia) Lucas; and 13 great-grandchildren.
 
Calling is Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Solid Rock United Methodist Church, 485 Bennett Drive, Warren. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the church, with Rev. Paul Burris officiating. Visitation will also take place one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.
 
Memorials are to Solid Rock United Methodist Church Building Fund in Warren.
