Richard 'Dick' Troxel

Richard “Dick” Troxel, 72, of Bluffton, IN, and having connections to Huntington County, died Sunday evening, May 13, 2018, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Troxel graduated from Lancaster Central High School in 1964 and graduated from Raedel College in 1967 with an associate’s degree in mechanical drafting and design. He and his brother Dave farmed together for 30 years and co-owned and operated Troxel Equipment Company. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church.

He was born March 11, 1946, in Bluffton to Ralph W. and Elsie Frautschi Troxel. He married Patricia “Patti” Wood in Zanesville on Nov. 19, 1966, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Terri Ehle, of Bluffton; a son, Winter (Corrie) Troxel, of Darnestown, MD; two brothers, Robert (Mary Jo) Troxel and Dave (Kris) Troxel, both of Bluffton; two sisters, Mary Jo (Sam) Gerber, of Bluffton, and Connie (Paul) Vidrine, of Kennewick, WA; and four grandchildren, Jacob Ehle, Gabriel Ehle, Braxton Troxel and Camden Troxel.

Calling is Thursday, May 17, 2018, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, May 17, 2018, from noon until 8 p.m. at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the Bluffton North Apostolic Christian Church, with Doyle Frauhiger and Mark Gerber officiating. Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bluffton Rock Steady Boxing Fund or Apostolic Christian Church Charity Fund.
