Robert E. 'Bob' Schroeder

Robert Eugene “Bob” Schroeder, 88, of Gas City, IN, and with ties to Huntington, IN, died Thursday, May 3, 2018, at 9:15 a.m. at Marion Health and Rehab Center.

Mr. Schroeder retired from Noll Printing, in Huntington, where he was a printer. He also served as a deputy sheriff, as well as in the zoning office with the city of Gas City for 24 years.

He was born Aug. 8, 1929, in Marion to Harry J. and Blanche Finley Schroeder.  He married Belva “BJ” McKeever on Dec. 12, 1947, and she survives.

Additional survivors include three sons, Jeff (Brenda) Schroeder, of Vinita, OK; Mark (Roberta) Schroeder, of Marion; Noel (Beth) Schroeder, of Gas City; four daughters, Diana (Paul) Shane and Susan (Steve) Barker, both of Gas City; Carol Teegarden, of Fishers; and Marianne (John) Case, of Marion; 15 grandchildren; a grandson-in-law; 40 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary Teegarden; a granddaughter, Kimberly Reber; and great-grandson, Nicholas Reber.

A service of celebration was held Monday, May 7, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Gas City. Rev. Richard Weisenberger officiated.  Burial followed at Gardens of Memory.
