Richard D. 'Rich' Steiner

Richard D. “Rich” Steiner, 86, of Linn Grove, IN, and having family in Huntington, IN, died Tuesday afternoon, May 1, 2018, along the Wabash River.

Mr. Steiner retired from Meshberger Stone and Lica Inc. in Linn Grove for 48 years. He was a veteran who had served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Mennonite Church in Berne.

He was born Nov. 12, 1931, in Adams County to Ezra and Metta Gilliom Steiner. He married Joyce E. Sudduth on June 30, 1956, and she survives.  

Additional survivors include two daughters, Rebecca (Jeffrey) Manlove, of Decatur, and Jacquelyn (Greg) Lengerich, of Huntington; and two grandchildren, Collin Lengerich and Brooke Lengerich.

Calling is Friday, May 4, 2018, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, 365 W. Main St., Berne. A funeral service will be Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Mennonite Church, 566 Main St., Berne, with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Jeff Linthicum will officiate. Burial will be in the MRE Cemetery, with Berne American Legion Post 468 performing military rites.

Preferred memorials are to the First Mennonite Church.
