Eldon L. Zahm

Eldon L. Zahm 92, of Fort Wayne, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, died April 17, 2018, in his home.

Mr. Zahm served in the United States Army Air Corps as an intelligence instructor for Air-Sea Rescue. He attended Huntington College and Indiana University. He served with the Field Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He was a real estate broker and home builder, owner of Zahm Real Estate in Huntington and Fort Wayne. He was national president of the American Turners and was honored by the governor of Indiana as a “Sagamore of the Wabash.”

He was born in Huntington to Eugene F. and Edith M. Zahm. He was married to Patti Mari Hiser for 40 years before she preceded him in death in 1990.

Surviving are two sons, Richard E. (Jonna) Zahm II and Rock L. Zahm; four daughters, Michelle “Mike” (David) Judd, Richelle Renee (Neil) Fenstermaker, Danielle “Dani” Zahm and Dina D. Zahm; two brothers, Maurice E. Zahm and Larry E. Zahm; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Calling is Monday, April 23, 2018, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home, 6557 N. Clinton St., Fort Wayne. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 11 a.m. with calling one hour prior, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Fort Wayne.
