Betty L. Schoeff

Betty L. Schoeff, 95 of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at 8:47 p.m. at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester.

Mrs. Schoeff was a 1940 graduate of Huntington Township High School. She had worked at the City Water Department for 10 years, at H.K. Porter for many years; and also worked as the executive secretary for the Huntington Memorial Hospital for six years, retiring in the mid 1980s. She was also a volunteer at Parkview Huntington Hospital for more than 20 years. She was a life member of the Eastern Star and Women of the American Legion; she was also a member of the Penguin Club, St. Peter’s First Church and was past president of Church Women’s United.

She was born Feb. 9, 1923, in Huntington to Roy and Eva Roth Cowin. She married Wallace E. Schoeff on Dec. 21, 1941, in Huntington. He preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1998.

Survivors include a son, Donald (Ruth) Schoeff, of Huntington; a daughter, Kathy (Mike) Hamm, of Martinsville; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Jim Schoeff.

Calling is Sunday, April 15, 2018, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, Huntington. A funeral service will be held Monday, April 16, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., with one hour of visitation prior to the service, at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
