Harry L. 'Shorty' Boggs

Harry L. “Shorty” Boggs, age 76, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, at 10:19 p.m. at his home.
    
Mr. Boggs retired from Kmart Warehouse in Manteno, IL, after 30 years of service. He then retired from Stride Rite in Huntington, where he worked for more than 10 years. He was a member of ABATE of Indiana.
                                                
He was born April 15, 1941, in Birmingham, AL, to W. K. and Elizabeth Simmons Boggs. He married Rita Leona McNerney on June 12, 1961, in Huntington; she preceded him in death on June 23, 2009.

Survivors include a son, Harry L. (Destiny) Boggs II, of Huntington; two daughters, Kelly Schlotter and Shannon (Duane) Huston, both of Andrews; two brothers, Harold (Edith) Boggs, of Tennessee, and Dennis (Patsy) Boggs, of Huntington; two sisters, Shiela Boggs and Shirley (Virgil) Saint, both of Huntsville, AL; a sister-in-law, Sue Boggs, of Huntington; five grandchildren, Dennis Boggs, Leona Huston, Kabrina Boyd, Diamond Boggs, and Zac Boggs; and four great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bary Schlotter; a granddaughter, Brittish Duncan; and a great-grandson.

Calling is Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington. There will be no service. Burial will be in Andrews Riverside Cemetery in Huntington County at a later date.
