Barbara L. Bartrom

Barbara Lou Bartrom, 86, of Wabash, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at 5:01 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor East, in Wabash, after an extended illness.

Mrs. Bartrom was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Rosary Sodality and St. Vincent DePaul Society and served the homebound.

She was born Sept. 21, 1931, in Warsaw, to David and Dorothy Veilhauer Williamson. She married Mark Bartrom on March 29, 1948, at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Huntington, and he survives in Wabash.
 
Additional survivors include a son, Bret A. (Sylvia) Bartrom, of Anchorage, AK; a daughter, Kimberly A. Pinkerton, of Wabash; a brother, Robert G. Williamson, of Columbus, OH; four sisters, Josephine (Kenny) Koontz, Mary Sloane and Sue (Sam) Manning, all of Indiana, and Margaret Oakes, of Arkansas; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Williamson, of Nebraska; 19 grandchildren, Daniel, Aaron, Rachel, April, Barbara, Elizabeth, Matthew, Craig, Michelle, Anna, Jeremy, Jeff, Christopher, Steven, Johnathon, Jennifer, James Brandon, Alyssa and Theresa; and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sons, Howard J. Bartrom, Steven W. Bartrom, Daniel W. Bartrom and Baby Bartrom.

Calling is Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Huntington. A recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, prior to calling hours at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750, with Rev. Stephen Colchin presiding. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Huntington at a later date.
