Betty J. Hollenbaugh

Betty J. Hollenbaugh, 94, of North Manchester, IN, and having connections to Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at 5:18 p.m., at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Mrs. Hollenbaugh graduated from Washington Center High School in Whitley County in 1941. She began working at Weatherhead in 1943. In 1971 she started working at Hunckler Products in Huntington, retiring in 1986. She and her husband made their home in Jefferson Township, Whitley County, and moved to Timbercrest in North Manchester in 2009.

She was a member of Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women, Splendid Splinters Woodcarvers of Columbia City, Whitley County Archeological Society and Whitley County Historical Society.

She was born April 12, 1923, in Washington Township, Whitley County, to Perry and Laura Vergon Goble. She married Theda E. “Ted” Hollenbaugh on Oct. 25, 1941. He preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 2012.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Sarah (Gaib) Wall, of Roanoke.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Tim Hollenbaugh.

Calling will be Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. A funeral service will be held Monday, Feb. 12, 2018 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church, 880E-1100N, Roanoke. Burial will be in Pleasant Chapel Cemetery.
