Walter G. Yoder

Walter G. Yoder, 84 of Markle, IN, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at 10:40 p.m. at Tipton Place, in Huntington, IN.

Mr. Yoder was a 1952 graduate of Cromwell High School. He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He had worked at Tippecanoe Siding for many years and later worked at Walmart in Huntington for many years, retiring in the early 2000s. He was a stock car driver and had worked at the Warsaw Raceway as a flagman for many years in the 1960s. He was also a member of the Lime City Cruisers Car Club.

He was born June 25, 1933, in Syracuse to Leander T. and Aura B. Weimer Yoder. He married Judith E. Huffman on April 24, 1987, in Louisville, KY. She preceded him in death on May 26, 2015.

Survivors include a son, Douglas Yoder, of Kitty Hawk, NC; three daughters, Cheryl Russell, of Elizabeth City, NC; Susan Feehery, of Chesapeake, VA and Christina Greulach of Middlebury; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Calling is Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with a funeral service following at 3 p.m., at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel. Rev. Ray Scribner will officiate.
