David D. Grandstaff

David D. Grandstaff, 77, of North Manchester, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

Mr. Grandstaff graduated from Manchester High School in 1958. He attended Wabash College until leaving school in 1962 to help rebuild the family business, Grandstaff Rendering Service in North Manchester. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Manchester.

He was born March 31, 1940, in North Manchester to Paul E. and Mary Alice Flenar Grandstaff. He married Jane C. Stands on July 19, 1959, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Manchester. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Erin (Steven) Jungbauer, of Leesburg, and Penny (Rick) Ruppert, of Rochester; a brother, Dan (Carolyn Worthing) Grandstaff, of Chapel Hill, NC; two sisters, Becky Kilgore, of Conway, AR, and Nancy Straka, of Huntington; six grandchildren, Sarah (Keegan) Bruner and Rachel Jungbauer, both of Leesburg; Samantha Ruppert and Jeffrey Ruppert, both of Rochester; Tracy Jo (Nate) Hilden, of Canton, GA; and Eric (Angela) Jungbauer, of Noblesville; and four great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W. Main St., North Manchester. A service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at 11 a.m., with calling two hours prior to the service, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 113 W. Main St., North Manchester. Rev. Jeff Hawkins, Deaconess Sabine Thomas and Rev. Judy Follis will officiate. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
