Flora Haynes

Flora Haynes, 85, of Marion, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. at her home.

Mrs. Haynes had lived in the Gas City and Jonesboro areas for more than 50 years. She had worked at Crystal Laundry, in Jonesboro, and as a custodian at J.C. Knight School.

She was born May 24, 1932, in Derby, VA, to James and Laura Flannary Bishop. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Junior Lawson, in 1972, and her second husband, Joe Danny Haynes, in 2008.

Survivors include three daughters, Sheila M. Twichell, of Gas City; Brenda K. (Gary) Dalzell, of Frankton; and Linda S. (Wayne) Leming, of Marion; two sons, William Kevin “Bill” (Cheryl) Lawson, of Huntington, and Michael Wayne Lawson, of Marion; 30 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a service following at 1 p.m., at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 40 E. Main St., Gas City. Rev. Henry Favorite will officiate. Burial will be at Jefferson Cemetery.
