Betty J. Endsley

Betty Jane Endsley, 92, of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at 10:50 p.m. at Heritage Pointe of Huntington.

Mrs. Endsley graduated from Roanoke High School in 1943. She was a homemaker and worked at Coil Engineering, in Roanoke, for seven years. She served on the Huntington County Farm Bureau Board of directors for 30 years, acting as county secretary for 23 years and attending several Farm Bureau state conventions. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, in Huntington County. As chairman of the Zion Ladies’ Aid in 1958, she was instrumental in establishing the first Harvest Supper, which continued for many years. She was involved with the Jackson Township Home Economics Club for 30 years.

She was born March 29, 1925, in Huntington County to Arthur L. and Lucille Jennings Chenoweth. She married Verne L. Endsley on May 19, 1946, in Huntington County, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 2009.

Survivors include two sons, David Lee (Nita) Endsley and Michael Jay (Glenna) Endsley; a daughter, Kathleen Jane (Daniel) McCune; a brother, Arthur (Nancy) Chenoweth; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington. A service will be held at the mortuary on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Bill Rapp will officiate. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery, Huntington County.
