Robert C. 'Bob' Needler

Robert C. “Bob” Needler, 85, of Marion, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, at 12:45 a.m. at Wesleyan Healthcare Center, in Marion.

Mr. Needler, a 1950 graduate of Swayzee High School, farmed livestock and later grain. He retired from farming in 1995. He had also worked as a bus driver for Oak Hill School Corporation for 31 years. He was a member of Maple Run Friends Church, where he had served as trustee and treasurer.

He was born May 23, 1932, in Anderson to Clifford and Della Mozelle Leach Needler. He married Mary Jane Savage on Jan. 16, 1953, and she survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, James (DaVee) Needler, of Wabash, and John (Cindy) Needler, of Swayzee; a daughter, Brenda (Wade) Finicle, of Marion; a brother, James Lee (Barbara) Needler, of Marion; six grandchildren, Wade (Elizabeth) Finicle Jr., of Huntington; BJ Needler, of Wabash; Eamonn (Brittney) Needler, of Kettering, OH; Kira-Marie (Andrew) Turner and Joshua Needler, both of Marion; and Brant (Ashley) Needler, of Williamsport; and five great-grandchildren.

A service was held on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, in Swayzee, with Rev. John Key officiating. Burial was at Grant Memorial Park.
