Max L. Husband

Max L. Husband, 78, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at 1:58 p.m. at Heritage Pointe of Huntington.

Mr. Husband graduated from Roanoke High School in 1957 and served in the United States Air National Guard. He was activated in the United States Air Force, serving as airman first class during the Berlin Crisis.

He was a fuel driver for Schenkel Oil Company for 27 years, delivering fuels for home heating and farming. He then worked at Wabash Magnetics for two years. He was a member of Emmanuel Community Church in Fort Wayne and sang in the church choir and a gospel quartet.

He was born Feb. 17, 1939, in Huntington to Russell G. and Wanah Humke Husband. He married Janice A. Paul on Oct. 23, 1960, in Roanoke, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Troy L. (Gayl) Husband, of Roanoke; a daughter, Sonya R. Pulley, of Cape Coral, FL; and a brother, Myron (Janet) Husband, of Huntington.

Calling is Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Heritage Pointe of Huntington, 1180W-500N, Huntington. Calling will continue from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Roanoke, with military graveside rites performed by VFW Post 2689, of Huntington.
