Larry G. Kumfer

Larry G. Kumfer, 77, of Tocsin, IN, and having family members in Markle, IN, died Friday evening, Aug. 11, 2017, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Kumfer graduated from Ossian High School in 1958 and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961. He worked at Fruehauf Trailer Company until 1987 and for Don R. Fruchey, in Fort Wayne, until his retirement in 2003.

He was born July 21, 1940, in Fort Wayne to Glen Eugene and Mae Geneva Johnson Kumfer. He married Linda S. Lindemann on June 7, 1958, in Tocsin, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Sherri L. Kumfer, of Tocsin; a son, Jerry L. (Lisa) Kumfer, of Markle; three sisters, Linda Bledsoe, of New Haven; Carolyn (Gary) Parker, of Churubusco; and Connie (Butch) Adams, of Fort Wayne; a brother, Dennis (Connie) Kumfer, of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Calling is Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home, in Bluffton. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Bob Miller will officiate. Burial will be at Prairie View Cemetery, in Tocsin, with military honors by American Legion Post 111, of Bluffton, and the United States Marine Corps Honors Team.
