Floyd E. Leffert

Floyd E. Leffert, 73, of Roanoke, IN, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at 2:09 p.m. at the Fort Wayne VA Hospital.

Mr. Leffert graduated from Logansport High School in 1962 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. He served in Vietnam with the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was retired from both NIPSCO and the Indiana Department of Transportation, where he was a union representative for the UAW, AFT Local 9212. He had been a volunteer firefighter for the Markle Volunteer Fire Department.

He was born June 12, 1944, in Logansport to Robert F. and Mary E. Marlatt Leffert.
Survivors include three sons, Scott (Deeanna) Leffert, of Chesterton; Michael Leffert, of Logansport; and Jesse (Deeda) Leffert, of Markle; a daughter, Denise (Bill) Tiede, of Winamac; two brothers, Paul (Vicky) Leffert, of Aldie, VA, and Robert Leffert Jr., of Las Vegas, NV; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a service following at 1 p.m., at Kroeger Funeral Home, in Logansport. Rev. Dean Snyder will officiate. Interment will be at the Veterans Square section of Mt. Hope Cemetery with full military honors.
