Gerald D. Anders

Gerald D. Anders, 86, of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at 5:23 p.m. at his home.

Mr. Anders served in the United States Army after attending high school. He worked at American Hoist, in Fort Wayne, and later as a spray painter for Teco.

He was born March 10, 1931, in Huntington to Kara and Eva V. Smith Anders. He married Lucy E. Warstler on May 30, 1953, in Auburn, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 25, 2015.

Survivors include a son, Jerry Anders, of Lagro; three daughters, Tammy J. Anders, of Huntington; Sharon (Mike) Hartup, of Warsaw; and Deb (Brian) Crago, of Roanoke; a brother, Kara Anders Jr., of Majenica; nine grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, in Huntington. A service will be held at the mortuary on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Randy Hensley will officiate. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory, in Huntington County, with military rites performed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, of Huntington.
