Donald E. Myers

Donald E. Myers, 89, of Bluffton, IN, and a native of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Ossian Healthcare.

Mr. Myers served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1947 and worked at Franklin Electric for 40 years, retiring in 1991. He later worked part time at Walmart. He attended the Nazarene Church in Bluffton and was a member of the Bluffton Masonic Lodge. He was a Boy Scout leader in Bluffton for many years and received the Silver Beaver award from President Ronald Reagan in 1987.

He was born Dec. 12, 1927, in Huntington to Clell S. and Leeta Lawrence Myers. He married Patricia Archbold on Sept. 15, 1951, in Bluffton, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 17, 2017.

Survivors include three sons, Mark E. Myers, of Bluffton; Douglas (Sherry) Myers, of Corpus Christi, TX; and Glenn S. Myers, of Bluffton.

Calling is Thursday, July 13, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel, Bluffton. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 14, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Tim McKnight will officiate. Burial will be at the Markle Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and American Legion Post 111 of Bluffton.
