Linda G. Myers

Linda G. Myers, 70, of Fort Wayne, IN, and a former resident of Markle, IN, and Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, July 5, 2017.

Mrs. Myers and her husband, Bruce, are the co-founders and former co-owners of Myers Funeral Homes in Markle and Huntington. She graduated from Calumet High School, in Gary, in 1964 and the Knapp College of Nursing, in Santa Barbara, CA, in 1967. A registered nurse, she worked at Wells Community Hospital, in Bluffton, and retired from Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was a member of the Markle Church of Christ and Radiance Gospel Quartet and a former president of both Altrusa International of Huntington and Huntington women’s Club. She had served as a board member for the Huntington County Literacy Coalition and the Huntington County Extension Chorus.

She was born Nov. 21, 1946, in East Chicago to Charles William and Kathleen Williams Yeager. She married Bruce Myers on Oct. 19, 1968, in Oxnard, CA, and he survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Holly (Todd) Tester, of Roanoke, and Jennifer Becker, of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Carol (Jon) Trathen, of Portage; a brother, Jerry (Julie) Yeager, of San Jose, CA; and five granddaughters.

Calling is Saturday, July 8, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington; and on Sunday, July 9, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle. A service will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at the Markle Church of Christ, 455 E. Morse St., Markle. Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery.
