Gary R. Carr

Gary Ray Carr, 75, of Fort Wayne, IN, and having ties to Roanoke, IN, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Genesis New Haven Care Center.

Mr. Carr graduated from Austinburg (OH) High School and served in the United Stares Navy. He worked as a tooling supply engineer at Rockwell International for 22 years, at Meridian for five years and at Eagle Picher for 16 years. He was a member of the Navy Club, in New Haven, and the American Legion, in Roanoke.

He was born July 21, 1941, in Indianapolis to Carl and Bertha Bessel Carr.

Survivors include two daughters, Paula E. (Todd) Bennett, of Monroeville, and Carrie (Scott) Hambleton, of Angola; a son, Chris Stevens, of Dorset, OH; two sisters, Carol Zee and Sandra (Chris) Pizzi, both of Phoenix, AZ; 12 grandchildren, Cory Carr, Cassie Carr, Carissa Martin, Colton Martin, Ashley Bennett, Jacob Hambleton, Ryan Hambleton, Jenna Stevens, Christopher Stevens, Ashlyn Wolfe, James Webber and Daniel Stevens; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Tuesday, June 20, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with a memorial service following at 3 p.m., at Hoagland Community Church, 11320 Hoagland Rd., in Hoagland. Rev. Todd Buckmaster will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery, North Kingsville, OH.

Memorial gifts may be made to Fort Wayne Animal Care or Disabled Veterans.
