James L. Manning

James L. Manning Jr., 77, of Warren, IN, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at 3:35 p.m. at his home.

Mr. Manning was a 1958 graduate of David Mackenzie High School in Detroit, MI, and served in the United States Navy as petty officer third class.

He was a journeyman machinist in tool and die for more than 40 years, retiring in 2004 from L&L Fittings, in Fort Wayne. He was a member of VFW Post 2689 in Huntington.

He was born March 26, 1940, in East Liverpool, OH, to James L. and Iva Wigal Manning. His mother survives in Chauncey, OH. He married Patricia L. Broom on Nov. 21, 1970, in Lancaster, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a son, David (Staci) Manning, of Warren; two daughters, Jacque (Vic) Mayles, of Chauncey, OH, and Virginia Miller, of Huntington; a brother, Raymond (Donna) Manning, of Allen Park, MI; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Calling is Saturday, May 27, 2017, from 10 a.m. to noon at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington. Funeral services will immediately follow at noon at the mortuary, with Don Rentschler officiating. Those unable to attend may view the service on the Bailey-Love Mortuary channel at www.livestream.com. Burial will be in Mt. Etna Cemetery in Huntington County with military graveside rites performed by VFW Post 2689 of Huntington.
