Wendell B. King

Wendell B. King, 75, of Bluffton, IN, and having ties to both Warren, IN, and Zanesville, IN, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at 2:25 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN.

Mr. King was a 1959 graduate of Warren High School. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany from 1964 to 1966. He received the good conduct and army commendation medals. He retired from Dana in Fort Wayne after 30 years of service. He made a patent while at Dana.

After retirement Mr. King went into several different business ventures. He started King Park Development, where he bought and sold businesses. He attended Epworth United Methodist Church in Bluffton.

He was born December 24, 1941, in Warren.  He married Linda Banter on March 11, 1967, in Warren, and she survives.

 Additional survivors are a daughter, Lora (Eric) Dettmer, of Zanesville; a son, Chris (Melanie) King, of Atkinson, NC; four grandchildren, Ashton (Jessie) Click, of Bluffton; Logan Dettmer and Lesley Dettmer, both of Zanesville; and Henry King, of Atkinson, NC; and a great-grandson.
 
Calling is Friday, May 26, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren.  A service of celebration will be Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the funeral home, with Rev. Marlene Ellis, Tony Garton and Rev. Larry Taylor officiating.  Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Warren.
