Marcea A. Young

Marcea Ann Young, of Carmel, IN, and a native of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017.

Mrs. Young graduated from Huntington High School and graduated from the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing, in Fort Wayne, as a registered nurse. She did post-graduate studies at Indiana University-Purdue University, Fort Wayne.

During her nursing career, she worked in Huntington, Wabash, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and Carmel. She also worked as a nurse, and often as a nurse manager, in several medical specialties. She was a member of Allisonville Christian Church, in Indianapolis.

She was born in Huntington to Carl and Lois Favorite Landis. She married Philip Daniel Young on Aug. 25, 1963, in Huntington.

Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Philip (Elizabeth) Young, of Noblesville; a daughter, Jelaine Elizabeth Sparrow, of Noblesville; a sister, Emily Beth (Lynn) Muckerheide, of Eagan, MN; and five grandchildren, Benjamin “Ben” Sparrow, Rhea Sparrow, Anne Marie Sparrow, Charles “Charlie” Young and Margaret “Maggie” Young.

Calling is Friday, May 19, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Allisonville Christian Church, in Indianapolis. A service will be held at the church on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at 3:30 p.m. at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.

Memorial gifts may be made to Allisonville Christian Church, American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
