Lon G. Price, 84, of Hobart, IN, and having ties to Huntington, IN, died Sunday, April 16, 2017, at 11:35 a.m. at Indiana Veterans Home, West Lafayette.
Mr. Price graduated from Laketon High School in 1950. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, serving in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968, and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Huntington.
After leaving the military, he managed Finance America Bank, in Gary, and First Federal Bank, in Merillville. He also delivered vehicles for several dealerships for several years. He was a member of the Portage First United Methodist Church, in Portage, where he served as an usher.
He was born Oct. 9, 1932, in Laketon to James Esta Sr. and Golda Rutledge Price. He married Phyllis J. Montel on Jan. 2, 1953, and she survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Ron (Sally) Price, of Valparaiso; a daughter, Cynthia Myers, of Lafayette; a brother, Edward Price, of Wabash; two grandchildren, Monica Ranke and Karla Piercy; and seven great-grandchildren.
A service will be held Thursday, April 20, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind.-114 West, North Manchester. Rev. J.P. Freeman will officiate. Calling is Wednesday, April 19, 2017, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at South Whitley Cemetery, in South Whitley.
