Loretta Combs, 83, of Fort Wayne, IN, and a former resident of Huntington, IN, died Friday, April 14, 2017.
Mrs. Combs worked briefly at Fibre Form Corp., in Columbia City, and Kmart, in Fort Wayne. She lived in Huntington from 1984 to 2000 and had also lived in Columbia City and in Allock, KY.
She was born April 30, 1933, in Vicco, KY, to Kelly and Myrtle Smith Taylor. She married Garrett Combs on Sept. 2, 1949, and he preceded her in death after 44 years of marriage.
Survivors include two sons, Larry (Christina) Combs, of Fort Wayne, and James B. (Linda) Combs, of Huntington; a son-in-law, David Jones; eight grandchildren, Shane Armstrong, Mandy Jones, Brittany Combs, Shannon Combs, Brandon Pearson, Lacy Monday, Tobin Combs and Scott Shinneman; and many great-grandchildren.
Calling is Monday, April 17, 2017, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. A service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 3 p.m., with Rev. Ballard Wood officiating.
