Charlotte D. Waggoner

Charlotte D. Waggoner, 92, of Fort Wayne, IN, and a former resident of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Englewood Health and Rehabilitation, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Waggoner graduated in 1943 from Huntington High School. She served in the United States Army as a surgical technician during World War II. She was employed at Memcor Inc. as a supervisor/group leader for 22 years. She was a member of the Salamonie Church of the Brethren, Warren, and the American Legion, Waynedale.

She was born March 1, 1925, in Huntington to John and Pansy Best Waikel. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bernard Hubartt. She married Samuel P. Waggoner on April 14, 1992, in Arkansas, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 2010.

Survivors include four daughters, Cheryl Holmes, Joyce (Craig Vespe) Hartley and Beverly (Tom) Kneller, all of Fort Wayne, and Julie (Karl) Schulz, of Roanoke; a sister, Patricia (Larry) Adams, of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Randolph, Nicole Arivett, Ian Kneller and Mackenzie Kneller; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Calling is Thursday, April 13, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Huntington. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 14, 2017, at 9:30 a.m., with Rev. Dianne Teusch officiating. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.
