Thomas M. Herzog

Thomas M. Herzog, 67, of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017.

Mr. Herzog was a 1967 graduate of Huntington High School and attended Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. He served in the United States Navy. He retired after 34 years of service with the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Chief of Operations. He also had worked at Zahm Excavating, Blomeke Excavating and Herzog Transportation. Mr. Herzog helped with relief efforts through FEMA and oversaw repairs and removal of debris after Hurricane Katrina and again in Joplin, MO, after a tornado.
 
He was born Sept. 24, 1949, in Huntington to Max and Jane Kennedy Herzog. His mother survives in Huntington. He married Marcia Doermann in 1967, and she also survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Benjamin Herzog, of Huntington; two daughters, Lori (Kendall) Mickley, of Huntington, and Lynn (Marc) Nelson, of Warsaw, IN; a brother, Jerry (Barb) Herzog, of Oklahoma; one sister, Susie (Joe) Beemer, of Huntington; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

There will be no calling or services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
