Lois Mae Brown

Lois Mae Brown, 88, of Hartford City, IN, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at 3:05 a.m. at Parkview Noble Hospital, in Kendallville, IN.

Mrs. Brown attended Chester Center High School. She worked at G.C. Murphy Co in Fort Wayne and also 3M Corporation in Hartford City. She attended the Bridgeway Evangelical Church in Kendallville. She also attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Hartford City and had been a Girl Scout leader.

She was born on April 17, 1928, in Huntington County, IN to Everett K. and V. Catherine White Wamsley. She married Harry D. Brown on April 19, 1952, in Huntington, IN, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Brown Berry, of Hopewell, NJ and Connie (Jim) Amos, of Hudson, IN; a brother, Tom Wamsley, of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren, Blaine (Mandy) Williams, of Wolcottville, IN, Try An (Anthony) Mitzner, of LaGrange, IN, David (Julie) Berry, of Baltimore, IN and Jessica Berry, of Washington, DC; and three great-grandchildren.

Calling is on Saturday, April 1, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren. A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, April 2, 2017, at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with calling two hours prior to the service. Jeff Wolheter will officiate. Interment will follow in the Van Buren Cemetery in Van Buren.
