Frieda L. Pyle

Frieda L. Pyle, 89, of Berne, IN, and having relatives in Roanoke, IN, died Monday, March 27, 2017, at Swiss Village, where she had been a resident the last year.

Mrs. Pyle was a charter member of Grace Bible Church where she sang in the choir. She also served at the Children’s Bible Mission for 30 years.

She was born Feb. 28, 1928, to Rufus and Ida Rich Nussbaum. She married Robert C. Pyle on Sunday, May 25, 1947, and he survives.  

Additional survivors include two daughters, Betty (Jerry) Burke and Carolyn (James) Moore, both of Berne; two sons, Richard (Gayle) Pyle, of Roanoke, and David (Cindy) Pyle, of Berne; a brother, Willis (Eleanor) Nussbaum, of Decatur,; nine grandchildren, Michele (Tim) LeFever, Michael (Becky) Burke, Kavan Pyle, Rob Moore, Ryan (Jill) Moore, Caleb (Paige) Moore, Tyler (Emily) Pyle, Gabe (Krista) Pyle and Stacey (Andrew) Smith; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Thursday, March 30, 2017, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Swiss Village Chapel, 1350 W. Main St., Berne. A celebration of life service will be held Friday, March 31, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Swiss Village, with Rev. Jeff Gaskill officiating. Interment will follow in the M.R.E. Cemetery.
