Veva L. Schilling, 98, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, March 19, 2017, at 3:30 p.m. at The Heritage of Huntington.
Mrs. Schilling graduated from Andrews High School. She held several jobs before joining Indiana Bell Telephone Company, in Huntington, in 1942. She retired from Bell Telephone Company with almost 30 years of service. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Fort Wayne, where she was active in the TNTs and Eunice Circle, and had previously attended the Evangelical Church, in Bippus. She volunteered in Chapel Bookstore for 30 years.
She was born Oct. 6, 1918, in Bippus to Owen and Delia Denney Burkart. She married Hugh Schilling in 1984 at McMillen Chapel, and he preceded her in death after eight months of marriage.
Survivors include a sister, Barbara J. Beckwith, of Huntington.
Calling is Thursday, March 23, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with a service following at 3 p.m., at Bailey-Love Mortuary, in Huntington. Those unable to attend may view the service on the Bailey-Love Mortuary channel at www.livestream.com. Burial will be at Bippus Calvary Cemetery, in Huntington County.
