Walter H. Deeg, 82, of Roanoke, IN, died Friday, March 17, 2017, at 12:45 a.m. at his home.
Mr. Deeg worked in maintenance at Midwest Poultry Service.
He was born Oct. 8, 1934, in Bach, MI, to Paul and Laura Schulz Deeg. He married Ida R. Prill on May 28, 1955; and she preceded him in death in 1984. He married Carolyn A. Denton on June 20, 1987; and she preceded him in death in 2016.
Survivors include three sons, Melvin J. Deeg, of Fort Wayne, and Mark J. Deeg and Michael J. Deeg, both of Huntington; two stepdaughters, Margaret Eloph, of Fort Wayne and Janet Offutt, of Colorado Springs, CO; a stepson, Donald Garrison, of Huntington; three brothers, Harold Deeg, of Unionville, MI, and Jerry Deeg and Robert Deeg, both of Sebewaing, MI; two sisters, Selma Schulz, of Deckerville, MI, and Shirley Leiterman, of Sebewaing, MI; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Calling is Wednesday, March 22, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 648 N. LaFontaine St., Huntington, with one hour of calling prior. Rev. Timothy Lorenz will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Roanoke.
