Phyllis J. Maples, 76, of Wabash, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 5:42 p.m.
Mrs. Maples graduated from Evarts High School in 1958. She was a homemaker and attended Allen Street First Baptist Church, in Wabash.
She was born Aug. 13, 1940, in Harlan County, KY, to Pete and Elizabeth Edmonds Melzoni. She married Merle K. Maples on July 16, 1958, in Clinton, TN, and he survives.
Additional survivors include three sons, Merle K. (Lisa) Maples Jr., of Fort Wayne; Mark K. Maples, of Peru; and Matthew K. (Amy) Maples, of Huntington; a daughter, Melissa (David) Harrell, of Clinton, TN; a brother, Pete (Sandy) Melzoni, of Wabash; a sister, Brenda Hatton, of Marlow, TN; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A service was held Thursday, March 16, 2017, at McDonald Funeral Home, Wabash, with Rev. Tim Prater officiating. Burial was at Friends Cemetery, in Wabash.
