Thomas R. Wilbur, 78, of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. at Markle Health & Rehabilitation Center, Markle, IN.
Mr. Wilbur was a 1957 graduate of Huntington High School. He also graduated from International Business College in 1959 and Ivy Tech in 1991, both in Fort Wayne. He served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964, stationed in California. He worked at Triad/Utrad (Magnetek) in material control from 1961 to 1989. He later worked as a respiratory therapist. He also owned Someone’s Treasures and was an antique collector.
He was born Feb. 18, 1939, in Huntington to Jack H. and Colleen Richardson Wilbur. He married Judith Oswalt on Nov. 20, 1960, at Central Christian Church, Huntington. She survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Jennifer (Robert) Bowers and Amy (Larry) Helton, both of Huntington; a brother, Jack (Aida) Wilbur, of DeLand, FL; three grandsons, Jordan Akers, Logan Akers and Cole Helton; two stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Calling is Friday, March 17, 2017, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with calling one hour prior to the service. Jean Hayden will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery, Huntington.
