Alan L. Fry, age 79, of Huntertown, IN, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017, in Phoenix, AZ.
Mr. Fry graduated from Central High School in Fort Wayne in 1955 and served as a SPEC 5 in the United States Army. He worked at Lincoln Financial in Fort Wayne for more than 30 years and was a reserve officer for the Allen County Sherriff Department. He served on the boards of the Park Edelweiss Club as well as the Fort Wayne Sport Club and Sister Cities International in Fort Wayne. He was a member of Our Hope Lutheran Church, where he served as treasurer and elder.
He was born March 24, 1937, in New Haven to Milton “Whitey” and Evelyn Reibenbach Fry.
Survivors include two sons, Howard D. Fry, of Grabill, and Troy D. Fry, of Fort Wayne; three daughters, Shannon K. Bowers and Tonja (Jeff) Ashton, both of Fort Wayne, and Kristi A. King, of Leo; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his ex-wife, Karen J. Flathau, of Grabill.
Calling is Saturday, March 18, 2017, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Our Hope Lutheran Church, 1826 Trinity Drive, Huntertown. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 7 p.m. at the church, with Rev. Joe Fichtner officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
