Gloria A. Rupley

Gloria A. Rupley, 83, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at 7:10 a.m. at the Visiting Nurse Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Rupley graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1951. She was retired from Helvey and Associates, in Huntington, where she had worked for 35 years. She was a lifelong member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, in Huntington, where she was active in the choir and Rosary Sodality and was a Eucharistic minister.

She was born Dec. 29, 1933, in Huntington County to Norbert and Mildred Pfister Johnson. She married Max A. Rupley on Aug. 7, 1954, in Huntington, and he survives.

Additional survivors include three sons, Timothy A. (Diana) Rupley, of Fort Wayne; Kevin J. (Barbara) Rupley, of Huntington; and Brian E. (Renee) Rupley, of Greenfield; a daughter, Sue E. (William) Scheiber, of Huntington; a brother, Donald (Jean) Johnson, of Huntington; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Monday, March 13, 2017, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m., at Bailey-Love Mortuary, in Huntington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., Huntington. Rev. Michael Merkt will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, in Huntington.
