Floretta L. Strange

Floretta Lucille Strange, 83, of rural Lagro, IN, and having ties to Warren, IN, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at 6:40 a.m. at her daughter’s home.

Mrs. Strange was a 1951 graduate of Lagro High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, in Wabash, and attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, in Lagro.

She was born June 26, 1933, in Lagro to Louis Carl and Mildred Cooper Anderson. She married Harold D. Strange on July 7, 1953, in Warren, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 2015.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Rick) Baker, of Lagro, and Sally (Joe) Meyer, of Wabash; three sons, Mick (Sharon) Strange, of Wabash; Sam (Sheryl) Strange, of Lagro; and Joe (Debbie) Strange, of Wesley Chapel, FL; a brother, C. Edward (Sue) Anderson, of Cambridge City; two sisters-in-law, Frances Norman and Millie Strange, both of Wabash; a brother-in-law, Charles (Betty Stowe) Strange, of Wabash; 12 grandchildren, Jared Lange, Josh Lange, Jama Lange, Courtney (Ben) Backer, Erin Strange, Kimberly Strange, Jason Baker, Tammy (Jason) Truman, Tyler (Victoria) Strange, Christopher (Joanne) Wilcox, Indie (Travis) Piercy and Mason (Shelby) Meyer; and eight great-grandchildren.

Calling is Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a rosary service led by Rev. Steve Colchin at 7 p.m., at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Ben Backer officiating. Burial will be at the Lagro Cemetery.
