Marcus 'Jim' Beher

Marcus “Jim” Beher, 73, of Wabash, IN, and having ties to LaFontaine, IN, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, in West Palm Beach, FL.

Dr. Beher practiced veterinary medicine in LaFontaine for 35 years and, after retirement, farmed in Wabash County. A graduate of Tecumseh High School, in New Carlisle, OH, he earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture in 1966 and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1969, both from The Ohio Sate University.

He was the son of Marcus Keith and Elizabeth Lucille Arnette Beher. He married Dorothy “Dede” Rinehart on Aug. 7, 1965, in Springfield, OH, and she survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Marcus (Christie) Beher and Kevin (Terri) Beher; a daughter, Rachel (Joe) Rizzuto; a sister, Cheryl (Michael) Stacey, of Springfield, OH; a brother, Richard (Debbie) Beher, of Ridgway, IL; and five grandchildren, Candice Gatchel, Trinity Gatchel, William Rizzuto, Katherine Rizzuto and Nina Rizzuto.

Calling is Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 S. Main St., LaFontaine. A service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at 11 a.m. His ashes will be spread by family and friends at a later date.
