Mary M. Casper

Mary Margaret Casper, 98, of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at 1:02 p.m. at the Visiting Nurse Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Casper was a former employee of Our Sunday Visitor, retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Rosary Sodality. She was also a member of the Lady Trainman organization.

She was born July 9, 1918, in Huntington County to Fred and Gertrude Young Scher. She married Harold E. Casper on Sept. 14, 1940, in Huntington, and he preceded her in death on June 22, 2005.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas J. Casper, of Peru, and Jerry A. (Brenda M.) Casper, of Gardner, MA; a sister, Anna Mae Lippencott, of Huntington; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Calling is Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Huntington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to Mass, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. Rev. Stephen Colchin will preside. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington.
