Violet L. Yoars

Violet L. Yoars, 97, of Warsaw, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2015, at 2:45 a.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw.

Mrs. Yoars graduated from Union Center High School, in Huntington County. In the early 1950s, she and her first husband owned and operated the Quick Clean Laundry, in Warsaw. She had also worked in a Warsaw medical office for several years. She was a member of First Christian Church of Warsaw, Warsaw Eastern Star and Winona Literary Club in Winona Lake.

She was born Oct. 19, 1918, in Huntington County to Charles and Mary Ellen Dean Cline. She married C. Kenneth Rice on May 3, 1936, and he preceded her in death on April 1, 1982. She married Carl Yoars on May 12, 1984, and he preceded her in death on June 2, 2002.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ellen (Larry) Long, of Warsaw; a stepdaughter, Rosalie (Tim) Tucker, of Amboy; a brother, Guilford (Judy) Cline, of Huntington; six grandsons, Scott (Jamie) Long, of Warsaw; Kim (Heather) Long, of Vernon Hills, IL; Ryan (Aleah) Long, of Tipton; Mark (Lori) Courson, of Benicia, CA; Brad Courson, of Compton, AR; and Jon Courson, of Tampa, FL; and nine great-grandchildren.

Calling is Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, with a service following at noon, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. Rev. Gary Boschain will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
