David A. Ruble

David A. Ruble, 81, of Warren, IN, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at 10:20 a.m. at Heritage Pointe, in Warren.

Mr. Ruble was a former principal of Andrews Elementary School and started farming after retiring from the Huntington County Community School Corporation. He had previously taught at Anthony Elementary School, in Muncie.

He graduated from Warren High School in 1953 and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Ball State University. He was a member of Emmanuel Community Church, Fort Wayne.

He was born Sept. 21, 1935, to John and Avis Williams Ruble. He married Jane Hoover in 1954 at the Warren United Methodist Church, and she survives.

Additional survivors include four daughters, Debbie (Steve) Darnell, of Huntington; Diane (Joe) Begley, of South Whitley; Susan (Russ) Denstorff, of Noblesville; and Nancy (Steve) Tumbleson, of Warren; a brother, Tom Ruble, of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren, Bruce (Danielle) Darnell, Mike (Paige) Darnell, Josanne (Robby) Aungst, Jayanna (Andrew Capite) Begley, Jason (Kara) Bowman, Jeffrey David (Jules) Bowman, Amanda (Bill) Russo, Stephanie (Eddie) Wielosinski and Eric (Breanne Bloemker) Tumbleson; and nine great-grandchildren.

Calling is Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Bob Bruce and Rev. C. Ray Miller will officiate. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, in Warren.
