E. Lenore Brown

E. Lenore Brown, 92, of Huntington, IN, and a former resident of Markle, IN, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at OakBrook Village, in Huntington.

Mrs. Brown worked at General Electric, in Fort Wayne, for 12 years, and was a farm wife. She graduated from Northside High School, Fort Wayne, in 1942 and sang in the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Choir. She was a member of Buckeye Christian Church, where she was involved with women’s groups, played the piano and served as treasurer for many years. She had been a member of the Elex Club while working at General Electric and was a member of the Rockcreek Friendship Home Economics Club.

She was born Dec. 24, 1923, in Fort Wayne to Forest and Eva Hunt Gee. She married Joseph Nohlechek on Nov. 18, 1944, in Fort Wayne, and he preceded her in death on March 13, 1945. She married Roger D. Brown on July 22, 1950, in Fort Wayne, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1991.

Survivors include two daughters, Ronda Sereno, of Oxford, MI, and Sandra Lake, of Churubusco; and three grandchildren, Bryn Keplinger, Isaac Keplinger and Dylan Pauley.

Calling is Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. lee St., Markle. A service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, at 1 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
